The “Halo” chip reader is a practical handheld scanner for reading animal identification chips. With excellent reading range and long battery life (up to 2 months on standby), this scanner provides reliable performance. The “Halo” is equipped with a lithium-ion battery that can be easily recharged via USB and connected to a PC. A fully charged battery provides up to 2 months of standby time and can perform 650 to 700 scans. The scanner features a robust and durable design.

The “Halo” chip reader supports both 10-digit and 15-digit chip numbers. The 15-digit chips (FDX-B) are the standard in the EU for animal identification, while the 10-digit chips (FDX-A) are used in places such as the US. Compact and ergonomically designed, the “Halo” fits comfortably in hand and is shock-resistant. The scanner is suitable for identifying chips in various animals such as horses, dogs, cats, sheep, and others.

Lost Animal Recognition:

The Halo chip scanner can identify scanned chips as reported lost, thanks to integration with the Scanner Angel database. Organizations that register lost animals can add the chip numbers of these animals to the database. When the Halo is charged via the USB port of a computer, it automatically updates with the latest data from the Scanner Angel database. If the scanner detects a chip that has been reported as lost, this information is displayed immediately, along with the contact number of the reporting organization. This allows for prompt action to reunite the animal with its owner quickly.
